System Requirements
Lexacom Talk™ or Type™ program software is installed directly onto each pc on the network (no software runs on the server). It is, therefore, essential that the recommendation for minimum requirements is followed:

Networked PC

	•	Windows 98
	•	Windows NT4 [Service Pack 6] or higher
	•	Windows 2000
	•	Windows XP

Minimum 64 mb RAM – 128 mb RAM recommended for NT, 2000 and XP
Minimum 300mb free hard disk space
Both Lexacom Talk and Lexacom Type require access to a Windows compatible sound card, installed and configured via Control Panel Settings; if using a USB Philips SpeechMike II Pro with Lexacom Talk, a sound card is not required as the device has an integrated sound card solution.
Talk™ will require an additional desktop microphone and a set of speakers if it is not used with a Philips SpeechMike II Pro.
Type™ will require a spare com or usb port for the footpedal connection.

All users will need full read/write access to the Lexacom folder which will be created on the server.

Laptop PC
As above but we recommend use of Philips SpeechMike II Pro connected to a usb port.

Standalone PC
Requires internet connection and compatible mail client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora or Lotus Notes) to send dictations via email. Dictations can also be saved to any removable media.

We recommend the Philips SpeechMike II Pro range of digital dictation devices for use with Lexacom Talk.
